### Much Interest Centers in Investigation to Be Made at State Farm Saturday
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga., July 23. With Leo M. Frank steadily improving and now regarded as virtually out of danger, local attention is being centered on the investigation of the State Penitentiary which is scheduled to be held here Saturday. This will make the third Investigating Committee for this month. The first Special Committee was appointed to examine into details of Prison Sanitation and Health Precautions, the second was the regular Penitentiary Committee of the Senate and House and now another Special Committee is to investigate the recent occurrence in which a Prisoner was dangerously cut by another using a large Knife of the Butcher or Kitchen type Saturday night.
Warden James E. Smith, other Prison Officials, and prominent Citizens of Milledgeville and the surrounding Country are confident that a minute Investigation will disclose the Fact that the Prison is most satisfactorily managed, especially when Facilities are taken into consideration. The Georgia Penitentiary here has quadrupled in size in the last ten years and adequate Provisions to handle such an enormous increase have possibly not been provided, but the Management is certain no truthful criticism can be directed against the Officials.
The visit of the Special Committee tomorrow, including Governor Harris, will be of much greater local interest than any event of like character here in several years, though this City has the largest State Institution in the South.
