A tri-cornered love affair that culminated in a serious stabbing in which the girl saved the life of the youngest rival, landed Charley Isom, sensational character in the Frank Case and ex-policeman, in jail last Wednesday, under bond of $1,000 for assault with intent to kill. He will be tried before Judge Ridley this morning. His victim, Warren Edward Dodd, a youth of 199 Rawson Street, was carried to Grady hospital, where a long wound across his face just above the upper lip was sewed up. Had it not been for the level-headedness of his sweetheart, Miss Annie Parker, who lives on Pine Street, the boy's throat would have been slashed. Catching sight of the knife in the ex-policeman's hand, the girl knocked the blow upward with her fist.

According to Miss Parker and young Dodd, he and Isom had been rivals for her hand. Isom protested seniority and the right to accompany her home last Wednesday night, when the three met at Whitehall and Alabama streets. Dodd was with Miss Parker at the time. The trio caught a Pine Street trolley car and got off at Linden. Words ensued on the corner, and a blow was struck. Isom whipped out his knife and lunged at the youth. His blow was deflected by the girl, who was also injured by a blow in the shoulder. Dodd was carried in an ambulance to Grady, and Isom was arrested a day or so earlier.
