Rests More Comfortably, Is Cheerful and Has Good Appetite.
START INVESTIGATION.
Governor Harris announced Wednesday that he would leave Friday night with E.L. Rainey, of the Prison Commission, for Macon, and would go early Saturday morning to the State Prison Farm, near Milledgeville, for the Investigation of the recent attack on Leo M. Frank. Commissioners Davison and Patterson will go to their homes on Friday and will meet the Governor and Commissioner Rainey at the Farm on Saturday morning.
Milledgeville, Ga., July 21. (Special) Leo Frank is asleep and resting comfortably late tonight after one of his best days since he was attacked. His physicians will not yet say that he is out of danger, but state that he is gradually growing stronger, and that they believe the crisis will soon be passed.
Frank has had less pain today than heretofore. He is cheerful and has a good appetite. Mrs. Frank prepared him some ices today, which he seemed to relish very much. He has been eating eggs and other food for invalids all along, having had scarcely any nausea since the injury.
Interest is now being centered on what will be brought out in the inquiry to be conducted by the Prison Commission and Governor Nat Harris. It is not thought that much can be added to what is already known. However, further statements may be obtained from Creen. He has gone into his cell, asking the warden to keep people from questioning him about the attack, saying that he is tired and will not talk to anybody.
At 5 p.m., this bulletin was given out: "Frank's temperature 100 1.25, pulse 90, respiration 18. His condition remains unchanged since morning. The persistent cough the patient has had since injury has improved. Compton, Hall, Moses."
